We all feel overwhelmed and lost sometimes
Life can be chaotic and demanding and you might feel you can't manage anymore. You consider reaching out for help but finding a safe place to be heard and gather your thoughts seems to be difficult to find. It doesn't have to be anymore!
I perform therapy to be that space for you. Offering a warm, non-judgemental environment, I am here to listen, understand and help you. No matter what challenges you are facing, we will work together to explore your troubling thoughts, feelings or behaviours, focus on shifting something you have been trying to change, or help you in what you are finding difficult to bear. As a result, together we can significantly reduce your emotional suffering and improve your health and find your balanced life.
I value therapeutic relationship with my clients which is based on trust and partnership, and see it as a necessary basis for our work together.

Healing doesn't mean the problem never existed.
It means it has no longer control over our lives.

When people become addicted to a substance or activity, it often results from the need or wish to reduce emotional stress and physical pain. Addictions include alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex, pornography, but also shopping, social media, chocolate, caffeine and other.
Addicted people often experience:
-
neglecting their responsibilities
-
relationship deterioration
-
a lack of ability to stop or reduce addictive behaviour, often accompanied by unsuccessful attempts
-
distress or irritability accompanying a lack of substance use and feelings of normality when use is resumed
-
requiring increasing amounts of the substance to achieve noticeable effects
-
not being able to function or cope with day-to-day life without the substance

Anxiety
Everyone feels anxious now and then, it's a typical reaction when under pressure. Anxiety is related to our "fight or flight" response - our body's natural response to a dangerous situation. It is often a vague unpleasant emotional state, accompanied by feelings of distress, apprehension and uneasiness. This reaction is normal among human beings, but when your anxiety becomes so overwhelming that you can no longer function properly, you should want to seek help.
With anxiety you might feel:
-
easily tired
-
on edge/restless
-
irritable
-
sleeping poorly
-
muscle tension
-
difficulty concentrating
Self Esteem
A healthy self-esteem is a critical part of psychological wellbeing. Our balanced and happy lifestyle very much depend on how we value, feel, and consider ourselves. If we have low self esteem, we experience a lack of confidence and feel badly about ourselves. Low self esteem often shows in adolescence but it can appear at any point in life.
If you have low self esteem, you might be:
-
doubting yourself and your abilities
-
feeling depressed, guilty or ashamed
-
putting yourself down for faults that may not exist
-
blaming yourself for events outside of your control
-
avoiding opportunities, challenges, or social interactions for fear of failing
-
being sensitive of criticism and overly self-conscious
-
having a pessimistic view on life
Relationships
Having good relationships are the reason why life can become fulfilling. You might have all the problems in the world, but once you know you’re not going through all of it alone, everything seems better and calm.
For you to have a good relationship with others, you should also exert time and effort. If you leave issues unresolved, they can become the reason for your breakdown.
Common issues might include:
-
conflict due to responsibilities and tasks
-
financial problems
-
issues with in-laws
-
intimacy-related problems
-
issues related to transitional phases in life (employment, birth of a child, etc.)
-
lack of communication
Culture Shock
Culture shock is the feeling of uncertainty, confusion, or anxiety that people experience when visiting or living in a society that is different from their own. It can arise from an individual's unfamiliarity with local customs, language, and acceptable behaviour.
People experiencing culture shock may feel:
-
boredom
-
withdrawal (e.g. avoiding contact with nationals)
-
feeling isolated or helpless
-
sleeping a lot or tiring easily
-
irritation over delays and other minor frustrations
-
suffering from body pains and aches
-
longing to be back home
-
unduly criticizing local customs or ways of doing things
